What is interactive learning, and how can it work in your teaching?
This course explores how interactive teaching strategies can be incorporated into lectures to facilitate deeper learning. It will look at how you can understand learning using the concepts of “Deep” and “Surface” learning, and discuss the research around interactivity and the impact it can make on the quality of student learning. It will cover practical strategies and tools that you can use to incorporate these approaches into your teaching practice, such as Echo360 Active Learning Platform (ALP), to foster greater student engagement that leads to deeper learning.
This coffee course is a follow-up to the highly popular ‘Deep and Interactive Learning in Lectures’ seminars that have been running at ANU, and builds on the previous coffee course on Enhancing Your Lecture.
Course Dates
This course ran from Monday, 26 March to Wednesday, 28 March 2018 through this blog but is accessible online to anyone interested. There are 3 blog posts that will take about 10-15 minutes to work through.
